Good news for Japanese language teacher

I sometimes check the website of the free paper called "Eikoku news digest" which is for Japanese residents in UK. The paper has translated articles about Japan which have appeared in English papers such as Independent, Observer or Daily Telegraph. I like these articles because I can learn English paper's way of looking at Japan.
One of those articles on 23 Feb. said that a school in Somerset reported that the students who have aphasia are more successful in learning Japanese language than learning European languages. The result made the school decided to add Japanese to the school curriculum.
Hope many more schools introduct Japanese to the curriculum so I'll have chance to teach Japanese in European countries.

Omotesando Hills

It was on the news that Omotesando Hills opend today and two thouthands people queued for the opening, 71,000people visitied only on the first day. The number of the people didn't surprised me so much but the rent for the one-room apartment by the shopping mall surprised me. It's from 750,000yen to 1,100,000yen (6,300USD - 9,300USD or 3,700GBP - 5,400GBP) for 45㎡ - 62㎡room. Someone who is rich enought to think about living there and want to know the room layout, visit Omotesando Zelkova house. You can also look for all the high class apartment in Tokyo developed by Mori Living for Tokyo-dream winner including Roppongi Hills which was Mr.Horie's ex-castle. The residents in Mori Living apartments can use the fitness facilities in any of those apartments for free. I had free yoga lesson by myself in my room with playing yoga DVD. There wont't be so much of motional effect difference...

Munich

I went to Roppongi Hills cinema to watch the film "Munich". It was good film but I needed to know more about the political background of Israeli and Jewish people.
It seems that I caught a cold...

Japanese lesson visitation

I visited the Japanese class which is also run by my Japanese teaching school. We were invited as a guest for them to practice Japanese conversation.
Most students were young Chinese who wants to go to Japanese University afterwards. I've heared passing well-known Japanese University entrance exam is easier than passing well-known Chinese university because there is special admission quota for foreign students. One of the students really wanted to have "gou kon" (speed-dating party) with Japanese girls. Another Chinese boy was interested in what Japanese people think about Chinese people. It was fun to talk with Chinese people.

Made in Tokyo

I was too tired this morning to wake up as I had to keep concentration all the day yesterday for the school and the first day of the work. Today was the same day. I had the school and work but it was very quiet at work so I could have time to chat with my collegues. One of them gave us a 'lecture' about an easy foreign currency investment on the net. Today was my first day to talk a lot with her and was also the last day for her to work there. It's a really a shame because she seems to be interesting person with a lot of experience and an excellent carrer. So I was lucky to have her last 'lecture' being paid at the same time.
I found that a new NHK documentary is on which is made for international broadcasting to introduce Japan called 'Weekend Japanology'. I stayed up late to watch it and today's topic was Japanese the utility houses on tiny spaces. An architect Yoshiharu Tsukamoto was the guest and he introduced his bilingual book 'Made in Tokyo'. I haven't known hin and the book but it seems that the book introduces strange buildings in Tokyo such as shops underneath a morter way or an driving school on the top of a super market roof.

The lawyers

I started working at the law firm in Marunouchi OAZO. The office looked almost the same as general companies but it seems that we have to treat the lawyers with very good manner without any rudeness. I wonder how lawyers in other countries are treated like. Is that traditional conservative way only in Japan? Anyway, the things what I'm sure are that the lawyers are respectable persons in terms of success in their lerning as they passed the difficult bar exam and they are making big money.

Anything else

I went to Ebisu garden cinema to watch Woody Allen's "Anything else". I think it was typical Woody Allen's film and I enjoyed it. I bought a yoga lesson DVD yesterday and tried it last night before going to bed. It was quite a nice DVD for 980yen. I'll do the yoga exercise everyday as I feel getting on weight recently. I ate "Chirashi(not balled) Sushi" with fresh crub, salmon caviar and sea chestnut and miso soup for main dish then coffee chocolate roll and orange gelly for pudding. Absolutely too much. Gosh, Tokyo is food paladise...
